How do I know if Home Care is right for me?

There are many things to think about when choosing home care versus a nursing home. Black Stone can provide you with a personalized assessment from a Geriatric Care Manager. This person will come to your home, take down your current information including medical conditions and assess your future needs. From there, a personalized written assessment will be presented to you with all of the options available and make a recommendation for your best option.

What areas do you serve?

Home Care by Black Stone currently serves the Southwest, Miami Valley, Central and Northwest regions of Ohio areas boasting 4 main offices and 13 satellites offices. Black Stone currently services clients in Hamilton, Clermont, Butler, Warren, Clinton, Greene, Montgomery, Miami, Shelby, Clark, Madison, Franklin, Hancock, Lucas, and Sandusky Counties, as well as surrounding communities.

What insurances do you accept?

We accept nearly all insurances including both Medicare and Medicaid. Please check with your local Black Stone office to see if your insurance is accepted.

Does Medicare cover any home care services?

Currently, Medicare does not cover non-medical home care services. However, home healthcare, physician-ordered and provided by a nurse or therapist, is available under Medicare Part A. To be eligible, you must be homebound and need skilled nursing or therapy services on an intermittent basis.

I don’t have insurance; can I pay out of pocket?

Many of our services can be paid for privately. Some people may be eligible for government assistance. Check with your local Area Agency on Aging for details on programs and to see if you are eligible.

How can I pay for home care?

Many insurances cover a certain number of visits from a home care agency. Other options include private pay, long-term care insurance, VA Benefits and much more.

What if I need to speak to someone in the office after business hours?

Black Stone staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When the office is closed, there is an on-call person available to help you.
